I am over 65...
At Scope we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to 'age in place' and remain in the home and community they choose for as long as possible. As we age, some elements of the home environment may present safety risks and barriers to our independence, meaning we lose confidence moving in and around the house.
Even the most simple home modifications can reduce hazards in areas of concern around the home including entries and exits, bathrooms, steps and stairways. Improvements like these can give you peace of mind, as well as help to maintain your independent lifestyle or reduce the need for formal assistance with daily tasks.
Many Australian's over the age of 65 are eligible for Government funding to access services like ours. The way you access this funding will depend on the extent of your needs and can be broken up into the following categories.
Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP):
Intended for people who are currently living independently and mostly able to care for themselves, but require some additional support with daily activities. If this sounds like you, click here for more information on how to access our services through CHSP.
Home Care Package (HCP):
Intended for older people who have more complex care and support needs but would like to remain living in their own home. There are 4 levels of home care packages – from level 1 for basic care needs to level 4 for high care needs. If this sounds like you, click here for more information on how to access our services as a Home Care Package recipient.
To access either of these funding types, individuals should first register with My Aged Care.
